my funny valentine

Isn't there some old 1950's lounge song about a funny valentine? sung by some guy with a bing crosby / frank sinatra kind of voice? there must be. i've heard it somewhere... (i suppose i should just google it). Anyway, that is what pops into my head whenever i see anything related to Valentines day. Valentines day is such a weird "holiday", the one day of the year where it's socially acceptable for a guy to admit he's head over heels in love. whoever started that? (again, I should just google to origins of the day - i'm sure it means something of significance - some St. Valentine or something). Gosh, I am lazy today! probably because I don't want to do the research, I just want to share the cute, red, heart shaped, Valentine themed things I've found on the internet this week :)

Snow Days have changed for me - I used to look forward to the prediction of a nor'easter; the hope of being snowed in for a few days, cuddled under blankets, sipping cocoa and watching everything outside get blanketed in white. Well, now that I have someone in my life that has to go out to plow when it snows, it kind of takes the fun out of a snowstorm.

BUT, it was fun to watch baby girl watch her first snow storm... we just wish Daddy was there to enjoy it too.

there is something so special about art for children. i am not sure if it is because it evokes memories of my own childhood, being wrapped up and blankets and having my mom read story books to me; or if it is because i can get lost in the illustration - wondering what the world beyond the frame is like. either way, there are some ridiculously talented people out there, making some ridiculously amazing art for kids.

O is for Owl by LoxlyHollow - Don't you just want to squeeze his little cheeks!! "His name is Wiffle, by the way..." amazing. I love the other scenes she has created based on traditional storybooks like Peter Rabbit.

I Love You Through and Through by Bernadette Rossetti Shustak - I love reading this book to baby girl, the words and images are so adorable it makes me want to cuddle forever.

Tree (Private Commission) by Nina Mata of Beautifique Studio - Her illustrations are a bit creepy, but all together alluring, the colors are absolutely stunning, just drenched in warmth. She has lots of prints and stationary for sale in her shop - so be sure to check it out!

Homemade Christmas

I had been searching since about Halloween for a good handmade Christmas gift idea - I swore to myself that this was the year I was going to have the cutest gifts, made by me, for all my friends and family to enjoy. I would say that I was about 65% successful.

I love the idea of edible gifts, but what do you give? There is always such a surplus of food around the holidays - do you really want to be giving someone ANOTHER tray of cookies? I also have a small obsession with Mason jars and have been trying to think of ways to incorporate them into my life, since my dream of having my own thriving garden from which I can & preserve vegetables for the winter has yet to pan out.

So after about 2 months of searching and browsing and humming and hawing, I settled on a (seemingly) delicious Cranberry Barbecue Sauce recipe I received through the Whole Foods newsletter. I went to the store, bought all my ingredients, picked out the cute little 6oz Mason Jars, I was set. I got home and started cooking, and everything was going well until I had to add the cranberries... Being a bit careless - I just opened the bag of cranberries and dumped them into the sauce, and then it hit me, the foul, overpowering stench of vinegar. I think they must have used vinegar as a preservative or something for those cranberries, it wasn't until it was too late that I read on the back of the bag "soak cranberries in water for 20 minutes and wash throughly with cold water" DUH.

Hoping the vinegar would "cook off" I continued on, cooking, simmering, blending, and canning. Only to open a jar the next morning and nearly vomit from the smell.

Into the trash, back to square one.

I wanted to stick with a Barbecue sauce, it seemed like it would be a well received gift, but I wanted a recipe with a spin on it, not the same old BBQ sauce that has no flavor. I found this recipe for Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce, and noticed that 21,500 people had saved it as a favorite - how could you go wrong? Back out to the store I went for more ingredients, Bourbon & some wine for myself... 2 hours later, I had a delicious BBQ sauce that I was proud to put into those jars.

Wrapped them up cute, and handed them off to friends and family (who hopefully enjoyed them).

the final product of my Thanksgiving favors... i had them set up in a cute basket surrounded by gourds and fall-y flowers for the guests to take away, and of course i did not snap any photos of it.

I got the recipe for Pumpkin Butter here, and then researched and found the little turkey clipart online, changed his tail feathers in photoshop and cut him out. It was a fun project to do... we'll see what next year brings.

This was one of those chain notes that was floating around facebook last year...I was just doing some housekeeping on my facebook profile and stumbled onto this & thought I would share.

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things..blah blah blah, i think most people get it by now.

......ok, here goes. I feel like I have more to say, and am once again judging how you will judge me. But after a bottle of wine, I decided to wing it. enjoy.

1.) I have a weird form of OCD, or maybe it’s just a type A personality with flaws? Or maybe I think too highly of my quirks. Either way, I have to absolutely have things perfect when it comes to text, colors, alphabetizing, my handwriting or notebook paper and how well it absorbs ink. But when it comes to dusting under my bed, or coffee drips down the side of my mug, I don’t really take an active interest in fixing it. For example, I am drafting my “25 things” in word so that it is formatted correctly, while my coffee cup (from 12 hours ago) sits next to me with drips all down the side of it and I have an overflowing pile of laundry in my bedroom.

2.) I get extreme satisfaction out of cleaning my ears. I’d even go so far as to say that it’s close to orgasmic, or at least to the feeling of a first kiss.

3.) I was held back in second grade because I switched elementary schools. My new school had a birthday cut off that I fell short of and was I placed in the second grade class where I was forced to learn all about character, plot, punctuation, symbols and simple fractions all over again.

4.) I cannot wait to be a mother. I am excited for every part of it, from having the relationship and love to create a baby, all the way through to when it goes college, gets married and has its own babies – I think about it probably more than I should. But I’ve always had the mental “mother” list in the back of my head, even when I was a kid, the list of things I’ll have to remember when I’m a mother; house rules, clothing I want to dress it with, things to things to teach it, what I will name it, how i will react when it comes home drunk…

5.) I can say the alphabet backwards. My grandmother taught me how when I was a kid.

6.) I go through stages in my life, extreme confidence to extreme self-conscience. It’s like cycles, highs and lows that days, months or can even last years. Even at the bottom, I always have something to look forward to at the top. I know what’s coming, i don't ever feel stuck.

7.) I am not able to say no to people very often. I get really awkward and uncomfortable when I want to say no, but am physically not able to come out with the words. I will go out of my way for as long as the situation allows to avoid confrontation.

8.) I do not know my times tables. seriously.

9.) I have an obsession with having a smooth surface. If I rub my hand along a table surface, or the side of a bottle, or along skin and there is a bump… I will have to pick at it until it is smooth like the rest of the surface. My exceptions are scabs on my own body and other people’s acne.

10.) I am happiest when I am dancing with my friends. Dancing seems to erase everything else and bring complete joy. (this one makes me smile)

11.) I am often careful of how I present myself to others. For example, facebook, emails,
ims or text, I check and re-read things multiple times from the view of my anticipated reader, wondering and projecting how they will view me.

12.) I love real estate. I love buildings old and new. I would find nothing more enjoyable than buying a house / apartment / abandoned building and renovating it. I’d probably paint some part of it turquoise.

13.) When I drink tequila I turn into a freak. I get foggy an am unable to recognize what I am doing as my own body with moving parts and words coming out of my mouth.

14.) I am very competitive. If you know me, we are probably in some sort of competition, whether or not you are aware of it.

15.) Porn makes me EXTREMELY uncomfortable.

16.) I always think that I can or could have done better than I did. (please note that number 16 has nothing to do with number 15). I somehow see my life as more than it actually is, and I get upset when I do not live up to my potential.

17.) I don’t like music as much as most people. There are songs that I really love, that wrench my heart a bit, but overall I’m not “into” music… I don’t really care who did what album with what singer or drummer, I hate the question “oh, have you heard their earlier stuff?” or the comment “oh, you HAVE to hear this” for the most part, I just don’t care.

18.) I kind of like the fact that I have had totally random experiences in my life: I’ve been in two movies but don’t aspire to be an actor, I worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, I got expelled from a Christian middle school, I drove across the country at age 17, I worked for a world renowned photographer at age 20, I kissed a girl when I was 9, I got frost-bite on my fingers and toes at age 14, I pushed a boy into a lake at summer camp on behalf of all the other girls he had “given back-rubs” to, I (felt) I was close to death when climbing a mountain at age 18.

19.) I hate when people brag, it’s insanely boring and obvious.

20.) I am in debt. But not as much as some people. I don’t (can't, won't) take money seriously.

21.) I am sometimes jealous when I am in relationships, but trying to work it out. It’s not you, it’s me…

22.) I LOVE my friends, and would do anything for them.

23.) I consider myself pretty funny most of the time. Pretty laid back and all around ridiculous. I’m more likely to make the best of a situation than I am to pout or cause a problem.

24.) I love to plan parties. And somehow take offense and get sad when people don’t plan parties for me.

25.) I a hopeless, die-hard romantic. I want it ALL, and I'm ok with that.

trying to make some portuguese roots...

Since I am now the proud mama of a 1/2 Portuguese child I figured it was about time to try to learn some things about the Portuguese culture - and food is always the easiest place to start. Being the fine Irish / English girl that I am, I am used to my people just boiling food until it all becomes one consistent gray-ish white-ish color with matching bland flavor, I did not learn about such things as olive oil, basil, or even black pepper until I was in college cooking for myself (with the help of my very italian friend).

Portuguese food (from what I have learned so far) is ALL about flavor, and the blending of flavor and the simmering of sauces, and the colors of the dish as a presentation. It's wonderful.

So as my first attempt, I thought I would try something easy: Portuguese Chourico & Peppers.

Ingredients:

3 links Portuguese Chourico (not the mexican Chorizo - it apparently makes a VERY big difference to the Portuguese people I have to cook for...) / chopped.

1 Lg Red Bell Pepper / chopped into large chunks (about the size of a nickle)

1 Lg Green Bell Pepper / chopped into large chunks (about the size of a nickle)

1/2 Sweet Onion / chopped into large chunks (about the size of a nickle)

1 fat clove garlic (I buy the jar of pre-minced garlic, and used about 2 heaping teaspoons)

1 Lg can (about 12oz) crushed tomatoes

Salt & Pepper to taste

In a large pot add Chourico, Onions & Garlic - cook meat thoroughly until the oil starts to seep out and the onions start to get soft.

Add Peppers, saute some more.

Once Peppers are just starting to get soft add crushed tomatoes, cook over low heat stirring occasionally - add salt & pepper to taste. Serve when peppers are soft or when you just can't wait any longer!

One of my favorite items on our registry was the Pink Birds Changing mat from The Modern Baby Company and my awesome friends Ellen & Bill bought it for us as a welcome to the world gift when we were in the hospital. Well, after one wash the pink dye bled all over our laundry and all over the white terry cloth of the mat. boooo!

So Ellen suggested, since it is a small company - send them a note. I did... and here is what I got back:

it's the weekend, and Dan has THREE days off in a row! I am in heaven. I think one of the things that has been causing much stress in my life these days is that I am not getting to spend as much time with the love of my life that I would like to, or am use to. He's busy at work, usually working 12-14 hour days, 6 days a week; which leaves Sunday for him to get a chance to sleep past 5:30am, spend some time with baby girl, and snuggle with me for a bit. But THIS weekend, he has THREE whole days to sleep, play & kiss. It's possible that I am more excited than he is...

I can't believe that May is almost over!! I feel like time is just zooming by!

I don't know if it is my lack of attention span, or the fact that our 2 month old refuses to nap when she's not in my arms... but I have only been getting one task or project done per day. Everything around the house is half done, because as soon as I start something inevitably the baby will cry, or need to be fed, or need to be changed, or just need some snuggles; and then it's back to the task or it's time to move on to the next one... like cooking dinner or switching laundry over.

It's exhausting and frustrating to only be able to do things in 20 minute windows. Sometimes she is good, and will sleep during the day for about 2-3 hours at a time. I guess this is the trade off for her sleeping through the night at only 7 weeks???

OK, enough complaining!

as always, i have so many things swirling around in my head that i don't {feel like i} have the time to sit down and write a blog entry. however, it is something i enjoy doing, it is something i want to be doing more of, it is something i miss when i don't do it. so i decided this morning to commit myself to a blog entry every morning {everyday}, no matter how short, or silly, or boring or bland.. i will do it!

..and the countdowns could go on and on... I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve! I cannot believe that in less than two months we will FINALLY get to meet our little one! I am so excited, nervous, anxious, overflowing with joy and anticipation that I can barely keep my thoughts straight (but maybe that is just the fated "progesterone haze"), either way apologies for my silence as of late. Things have been busier than ever it feels like, but maybe that is just because I have never been this DIS-organized in my life! Papers strewn about everywhere, bills unpaid, dirty laundry piling up, mail left unopened, emails left unanswered, facebook not updated... {ha - who am i kidding?! I'm not THAT out of sorts!}

With all these thoughts, reminders and to do lists bouncing around inside my head there are a few empty corners left that i carefully fill up with lovely things that i can think back on and find a calmness.

inspiration

I ordered Elizabeth Gilbert's book Eat, Pray, Love based on an Amazon.com recommendation. I was in need of a new book to read, and having just come off a Roald Dahl stint I wanted something that was going to be challenging and inspiring. The first day I tore through 1/3 of the book, drinking it all in. I immediately went online the next day and ordered four copies for my best girl friends - this book MUST be shared.

It should come as no surprise that I've been unhappy in certain aspects of my life and full of pure bliss in others lately. However, I feel there is a constant unrest in my day to day life, I want there to be a balance, a purpose to my everyday. Now, while I won't say quite yet that this book has changed my life, it has certainly opened some doors for me, shed some light in the darker corners of my brain. Gilbert is vocalizing what I feel has been lingering in my mind for years: feelings of spirituality that are not easily matched with a specific organized religion, paired with a feeling of guilt or fallacy for "cherry picking" ideas from all different religions and religious practices to make up my own happiness. Knowing that in order to be happy you must overcome yourself before you can take on the outside world. Gilbert's book truly gives me hope that the things that I have been searching for, scrambling to get, this way of life that "will really make me happy" but feels somewhat out of reach, is in fact not out of reach I just need to take a different path to get to them.

I hope that I am able to quiet the ruckus that distracts me and focus on the things that will make me happy and at peace with my life.

room with a problem

We're settling in nicely into the new place, we just have this one room that is sort of vacant. A drop zone for mail, keys, sweatshirts, newspapers, slippers and dust bunnies. This problem child is the first room you walk into in our house, it's too large to be called an entry way but it's not quite a living room and not quite a dining room as it is a gateway to all the other rooms in the house. My intentions for this room are to have it be a studio space / sitting room, however I have come to an inspiration road block. I have this LARGE bookshelf / desk from IKEA that I used in my old studio, but now in this bright white, awkwardly shaped room this desk is out of place...but I feel like I NEED it as a work space.

Any thoughts? Comments?

The bookshelf / desk combination: Oh how I wish the desk fit snuggly underneath the window, but alas the radiator is in the way, causing the desk to float out about 12" from the window.

As Christmas gets closer I am feeling more and more domestic. It's a rainy cold Saturday, Dan is out working, Lorelei is kicking happily in my belly and I think I need something warm and sweet baking in the (other) oven.

Bread Pudding, here I come...

5-6 slices bread, any type
1 1/2 c. milk
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. raisins
2 tbsp. butter

Beat together milk, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, and raisins by hand or mixer. Pour over bread. When bread is completely saturated with mixture. Mix and break up bread with fork until bread and mixture are well blended together. Grease pan with the butter and pour in mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until knife comes out clean.

As it gets colder outside I find myself craving hot cocoa and tea more often. At one time I had an adorable red enamel tea pot that I LOVED. It's since been lost in the move, so I'm on the lookout for a new one... I like pots that are pretty enough to go from the stove to the table, and add a splash of color to the kitchen.

I'm gearing up for our first dinner party at the new place tomorrow night. It's a little early considering we still have only half the furniture moved in from storage, no art on the walls, things still in boxes and nearly empty rooms. BUT I just couldn't resist cooking up a big meal for our nearest and dearest friends and showing off our new digs. Besides, they'll understand if they have to eat dinner off paper plates ;)

While searching through the blogs today to find cheap / creative ideas to decorate and set the mood for the dinner party, an email came in from Etsy: Etsy Finds: 80 Gift Ideas Under $50. I'm constantly amazed by all the creative beings that site brings together.

Here, janejoss creates these beautifully crafty centerpieces, wreaths etc. from fabric and sitching! These are so pretty, elegant and simple, they give me the warm fuzzy feeling of watching a kitten play with a ball of string or admiring a sleeping baby.

that we live in a world that does not allow equal rights to all members of humanity.

As Dan and I prepare for our new arrival we are faced with MANY different obstacles that we hadn't even thought of 6 months ago; eg: life insurance, health insurance, wills, college funds, investment portfolios etc. etc. etc. As I sat at our kitchen table racking my brain trying to see how much life insurance we could afford, or who's health insurance plan is better for us and the baby; I realized that for the most part these questions have a simple fix for us - get married, it will save us thousands per year. Sadly, some of my closest friends do not have that option. Why is it that they cannot be allowed the same?

i found this awesome site farmfresh.org - it is a delicious web page that will navigate and guide you through all of the local food options in rhode island, as well as a calendar of the farmer's markets, what's in season and yummy recepies for you to try at home. I was beginning to give up hope on the limited "organic" offerings of the big box grocery store that is close to our house. Now i have a resource that will tell me where to get locally grown foods every day of the week. oh happy day.

after what feels like the longest 72 hour wait of my life (ohh just wait til labor i hear the voices in my head telling me), we've finally been approved for our new apartment. horray! it's right in downtown Newport (cutesies), it is completely renovated and has enough room for us, our baby, our friends and family, and my studio (which is currently in about ten different boxes in storage at my moms house).

the above photo is of the front entry room, or what the landlord calls the "2nd livingroom" (not our furniture, obviously) but i think this little room will be my studio / our office if i can find a way to make it functional with out looking ugly and cluttered, since it is the first room you walk into in the apartment.

Now, how do I tell everyone that I HATE pink?!

We got the ultrasound done on Saturday morning, it's official... we are growing a little baby girl! We've picked out the name Lorelei, and now we're working on a middle name. We've also put an application down on our dream apartment and hope that we get accepted despite our horrible credit scores. I purchased my first maternity clothing this weekend, as it is becoming increasingly difficult, or more realistically too damn annoying, to keep tugging my t-shirts down over my belly. What's next...

As for the nursery ideas? I hate pink rooms. Perhaps it was the failed attempt at painting my room pink when I was in elementary school; my mom and I went to the store and picked out the paint, what I thought was going to be a cheerful pastel pink, something my CareBears and My Little Ponies would feel comfortable in. It turned out to dry much darker than I had wanted, sort of like the pink of the puke basins they give you at the hospital... And so I was left stuck in a dark pink bedroom until we moved out three years later. Lately, I've been looking for some bright alternatives to pink, and think I may have white as the primary color of the walls and add bright accents to one wall or the windows and furniture.

Since all I seem to be doing these days is eating, I am in search of some yummy new recipes for snacks that don't have as much processed crap as store bought snacks. I've been craving zucchini bread since I noticed the sad little zucchinis left in our vegetable drawer just waiting to be gobbled up. I found this natural spin on zucchini bread and can't wait to try it.

From Super(Natural)Momma:

1 1/2 cups each all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/3 cup canola oil
1 teaspoon grated lemon rind (I'd leave this out for pickier eaters)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/3 cup blue agave nectar
3 cups shredded zucchini (about 3 medium)
1 cup shredded carrot (about 2 medium or 1 large)

Preheat oven to 350 and coat two 8x4 loaf pans with cooking spray. Combine dry ingredients in one bowl and wet ingredients (including veggies) in a larger bowl. Add the dry to wet and stir until just combined. Bake 45 minutes to an hour until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before slicing.

i love weekends, more than anything. i love waking up slowly to only the sounds of heavy breathing dogs, and birds chirping outside. i love enjoying my coffee rather than guzzling it down to get the much needed caffeine jolt. i love taking the time to play with the dogs, time to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine, time to eat a breakfast while reading the paper. i love staying up late to hang out with friends. i love going for bike rides. i love working in the garden. i love going grocery shopping and cooking a big meal.

it feels like summer is coming... the hot hot heat, blazing sun, fresh air in my lungs. it's beautiful. the backyard is coming together - all the veggies are in the ground: -zucchini -carrots -spinach -red beets -golden beets -boston lettuce -cucumbers and in the containers: -tomatoes -basil -rosemary -tarragon -strawberries

plus, we've planted some grass (a bit late) but hopefully it will grow before the party in July!

I get so easily frustrated with machinery that I do not understand. I got my sewing machine back last weekend, after forking over $140 for its repair and tune-up. not even three days after having it back it starts to act funny. thread is not sewing properly. bobbin is not winding. motor stops.

i have so many projects in mind that are just bouncing around my head. i need to get them out. i need to create. but i can't. i have to wait until tuesday to bring my machine back to the stupid people who "fixed" it.

trying to find harmony

I am reading about three books simultaneously - all with little tid bits in them that make my heart soar with optimisim and inspiration. Yesterday, after a busy Easter afternoon of running around, cooking, cleaning, and getting fed-up with my sewing machine I decided to take a time out with Suze Orman's book "Women and Money" - if I don't have the patience at the moment to be physically active, I may as well be mentally active, right?

In her second Chapter, she explains The Eight Qualities of a Wealthy Woman (however I do not think that these qualities are gender specific, nor do I think they are that financially inclined - they apply to anyone that needs a little reminder from time to time). What struck me hardest was the first and second Qualities: Harmony and Balance - In Suze's words:

Harmony is an agreement in feeling, approach, and sympathy. It is the pleasing interaction between what you think, feel, say, and do.

Balance is a state of emotional and rational stability in which you are calm and able to make sound decisions and judgments.

Harmony and balance are perhaps the most important qualities of all, for they serve as the foundation for the remaining qualities. When you possess true inner harmony, what you think, say, feel, and do is one. We are so accustomed to this split-screen state of mind in which we think one thing, say another, feel something else, and act in a way that has nothing to do with what we just thought, said, or felt. When your thoughts, feelings, words, and actions are not in harmony, it shows up as an imbalance -- you feel agitated, uncomfortable, you sense something is off, so you find it difficult to make rational, calm decisions. This is why these two qualities are a pair.

What you think, say, feel and do is one. That is my goal for the coming month - to reach that harmony in my life. I think I need to re-align everything and say what I feel, and do what I say.

i had some more time this weekend, so i was able to finish the beds, and start the "patio" that will surround them. I got a ton of free bricks from this guy on craigslist, so I thought I would pave our whole yard... it's hard work laying bricks! I was only able to get so far before the sun started to set.

I enjoy building and creating - i haven't put my seeds out yet, it's still too cold. I want them to have a fighting chance once they are in the ground.

I try not to watch celebrity gossip, mostly because it annoys me. But who am I kidding? When I flip on the TV and Extra or Access Hollywood is on, I can't help myself.

Anyway, I just saw this particularly disturbing story of Namoi Watts getting stalked by papparazzi while she's like 6 months pregnant.

I dunno, I mean fair's fair to a certain degree if you are in the public eye all the time. But I just feel like more often than not these people should be left alone! Sure, harass them all you want when they are on the red carpet, or at some swanky event... but while they're going to get a massage while pregnant? At the grocery store?? At the beach?

That's fucked up.

They are people too, and deserve their privacy. I sometimes feel like we miss the point, or don't think about what it would be like to wake up and want to walk outside and be flanked by photographers and people saying nasty things to you trying to get you to respond, only to have it end up in 200 newspapers the next day...

I always have the most unique, creative, funny, and ingenious thoughts around 11:30 pm when I am half asleep. (or maybe it's because i'm half asleep that i think i'm being clever). As a result, I do not remember what they were the following day, or ten minutes after the fact. And finally. My blog is lack-luster.

My dog Phthalo (the girl) is OBSESSED with fetch. To the point where I worry about her. She will come up to you at any time and all the time with a toy in her mouth, and try to push it into your hand. When you don't want to play she just stares at you with the most upsetting look on her face. She also likes to sit in front of the sub woofer when no one is watching.

I'm psyched to hang out with Tara this weekend. She's been back in town for 2 weeks, and I haven't had the time to even meet her for a cup of coffee. boooooo.

I enjoy listening to bad music REALLY loud.

It's interesting how many words float around my head on any given day. But when it comes to writing them down, my brain feels empty.

I feel like, in my own life, I have spent the past week or so just reminiscing. Which I'm not sure what happened to evoke this reunion of memories, but it's been pretty fun. Sometimes not. but good overall to remember people, places, things.
